[fusion_text]New research from Professor Oral Buyukozturk shows that the microscopic properties of cement are key to stronger, more sustainable concrete. Buyukozturk, graduate student Steven Palkovic and Sidney Yip, professor emeritus in Department of Nuclear Engineering, created a computer model to simulate the behavior of individual atoms under a variety of conditions and see how strength develops in concrete materials.
