Grace Xiang Gu, graduate student in Mechanical Engineering who works in collaboration with CEE Department Head Markus Buehler in MIT’s Laboratory for Atomistic and Molecular Mechanics (LAMM), won the Best Poster Award at the Bionanotechnology summer institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Campaign (UIUC). The program consisted of two weeks of lectures and hands-on training in engineering and physical science laboratory techniques by experts in the field. Gu’s poster displayed her work on bio-inspired composite designs from optimization and 3D printing. View the poster here.
